Design Narrative
The concretisation of "flow" extends the meaning of communication or interaction. On one hand, interaction is regarded as a part of the concept of this device, which can strengthen the communication and interaction between parents and children, promoting their parent-child relationship.
The concept of "flow" is abstracted, and the arc structure is derived from considerations of shape and line. The use of arcs, instead of straight lines, symbolises the connection between parents and children. The aim is to embody and incorporate these arc elements or structures in the design of the device.
To enhance the parent-child relationship through spatial interaction and communication, there is a gradual decrease in interaction between many working parents and their children. In addition to the indoor space at home that can provide activities, there are relatively few resources in public open parent-child activity spaces. Therefore, the design of such a mobile device aims to increase interaction between parents and their children.
Geometric figures composed of arc shapes are interspersed to form "walls," which are hollowed out at different heights with circular or semi-circular patterns of various sizes. This allows parents and children to walk through them, thereby increasing interaction and communication. The top of the device utilises a complete mirror to reflect and broaden the field of vision, creating a connection with the entire space. Additionally, the use of different colours adds visual richness and makes the device stand out when placed in indoor spaces.
