My Design Philosophy

I am very glad to be a designer. Design is a multi-faceted course, integrating various subjects such as sociology, philosophy, etc., which makes the process of design a very interesting one, and my passion also comes from it. In the exploration of each project, I feel different cultural customs and cultures, which has become my favourite stage. The design process is like a journey, a pilgrimage, in which I accumulate strength and reach the temple in my heart at the end of the journey.

Generational understanding

This is based on the situation of the increasing work pressure of young people, through the classification of different generations and understanding the behavioral habits of different generations, the elderly can be accompanied and the young can be relaxed. It is also a "bond" that connects the community together.

Slider image

The concept of bond

From the concept of bond, many elements are derived, including DNA strand structure, topology structure, knot structure, series structure. The elements are abstracted into the most basic geometric form and utilized. The elements are transformed from abstract to concrete.

The extension of elements

Through the extension of the elements on the element board, many interesting forms can be obtained, and different elements are "defined" according to the needs of different groups, and elements are reinterpreted from both abstract and concrete perspectives. The design method of modularization is obtained, the community planning method is obtained

Design development

In this part, the three-dimensional space to be used in the design is developed based on the elements obtained from the transformation of two-dimensional graphics, and the body is analyzed based on the structure and operation methods (topological structure, Boolean operation method, modularity) obtained in two-dimensional.

Final Design Proposal

This community is clearly next to the next community, but it is cut off by a wall. Therefore, my design target is to take this community as the divergence point, radiate the surrounding communities in a planned way, break the "walls" in the community (physical walls and walls in people's minds)

General Views

It is hoped that the design can change the gap between generations , and at the same time, it is hoped that the community can become a place full of children's laughter. And through the organic architectural form, rich space, break the cold appearance of modern architecture, and awaken people

Community Project - Participant’s Installation

Design Narrative

Students theme  My project aims to provide a landscape and indoor space that allows the public and empty nest elderly to understand each other. The source of the design is due to the relatively closed surrounding area of the community, where the digital information that the elderly can accept is relatively limited. Society did not truly pay attention to the elderly as a social group, resulting in the elderly not receiving true understanding and comfort in their hearts.
Providing a landscape and space. Firstly, it is important to consider the role of transportation connections, which can reduce unnecessary trouble for the elderly due to inconvenience in their legs and non motorized lanes. Instead, it can connect the surrounding areas and make them a large social group, thereby enhancing their social identity and reducing false anxiety.

Honours Project - Site Research and Representation

Part I: Research and Analysis

The change of location is located in the school district of Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City. The predecessor of the house was a room allocated by the provincial installation company. The provincial installation company works stably and comfortably for state-owned enterprises, with complete infrastructure around the location (hospitals, commercial areas, government, schools). The main residential population is approximately 60-80 years old, accounting for 76% of the total population, and the children of the elderly work outside of their hometown, so the main caregivers for each other are still neighbours. The community is surrounded by fences and is relatively enclosed. The street in front of it is the only one that can be easily accessed, but the elderly often cause unnecessary small troubles due to their age and inconvenient mobility.

Part II: Site Representation

Narrative:

Red brick represents the inheritance and reproduction of memory, not just a one-sided thing of red brick. He has historical implications and more sexy connections. A point forms a line, a plane from a line, a body from a plane It has plasticity, reinvention, warmth, enveloping, connectivity, irregular shape, which is derived from the abstract meaning of the red brick Red brick is not only the spiritual  but also the construction material of the physical house at the site, sustenance, which is the only sign of the community that has not been forced to push It can, it is  used as a spiritual symbol and link, a link and a trace process and steps To simulate the erosion process of red brick, the purpose of the experiment is to investigate the specific form of red brick through the form of glue folding. The shape left behind can be used as a test result for the following mental side derivation with

Part I: Instantaneous

'...the internet" and "intelligence" seem to gradually replace many scenes in life".'

The boom under the trend of Generation Z - "homebody culture" 3.0

With the rapid development of the Internet and scientific and technological progress, the internet" and "intelligence" seem to gradually replace many scenes in life, such as reading paper books, stamps, handwritten letters and many aspects of life. It allows people to explore the great river without leaving their homes; People can receive blessings from afar even in a tiny corner of the world, but it makes the distance between people narrow at the same time, but also narrows the "scale" of replacement life. People are more and more lazy to really set foot in the bustling world they see on the Internet, to feel physically and mentally.

The man who sat in the corner of the balcony reading books in the afternoon was gone; The man who took up his pen and practised his calligraphy disappeared; The people who had gathered to practice chorus were also gone. Everyone is holding their phones, on the bus, on the subway, in bed, on the way to work, and on the way home. Our generation, born between 1995 and 2009, called Generation Z, is one that has been strongly affected.

Part II: Protection

'.....But Generation X themselves said, "We stand for something." We are arrogant! Very independent!'

Student title here from text

Generation x, also known as the "keyholder generation," grew up during the recession. They are cautious with money and more sceptical of brands. This generation is hesitant to change and innovate, preferring to stick with what they know. Despite growing up and living with modern technology for most of their lives, Gen X will place more trust in nostalgia, word of mouth, and comments from other users. People in this era were really independent and mature early because their parents were mainly labour workers, so they learned to be independent of a young age.
A notable feature of Generation X is to pay more attention to their own social status and respect, minimalist, "like a book with a thick read thin." In the concept of marketing, they also pay more attention to the applicability of the product itself and the cost performance, and will not swing their decisions because of the temporary "trend hot" and "fast culture" and other network upsurges.
Generation X is the "forgotten child," according to U.S. News and World Report, and Businessweek calls Generation X "the hopeless generation." But Generation X themselves said, "We stand for something." We are arrogant! Very independent!".

Part III: Lack

,...but under the trend of rapid development and massive information, people in Generation X are easily abandoned by generations'

Fast-paced and high-speed

Compared with the people in the era of Z, people in the era of X have a more hardworking consciousness and have an earlier and more emotional understanding and recognition of life ideals and plans. The Z generation is also known as the natives of the Internet. In other words, the Z generation is more likely to integrate into the group in the period of high-speed Internet development and fast-paced and high-speed economic development. They are more independent and self-reliant, with strong self-esteem and a distinct identity. However, it is easy to be attracted by massive information and difficult to decide on their own direction. Generation X is more likely to be self-determined, but under the trend of rapid development and massive information, people in Generation X are easily abandoned by generations, which may be one of the factors why people in Generation X need a strong sense of social identity. Generation X people are more likely to be at the top of a field for their perseverance, but Generation Z people may have a wider range of knowledge.
