My Design Philosophy

"I like to wander around and enjoy the outdoors, especially the natural scenery, such as green plants and park flowers, which make me feel happy. Subtly, the environment I observe will influence my design. Observation is the best source of inspiration. The design should be connected. It is necessary to apply one's own interests, such as flowers, light, colours, and so on, and the aesthetic accumulated in daily life into the design, so as to convey what one thinks is beautiful and how one feels. Connect and communicate with the audience or users through design."

Lighting

The picture incorporates elements such as lighting, furniture arrangement, the flow of people, and plants. A significant number of plants are strategically placed within the interior, with the initial idea of creating a coffee corner. This design aims to establish a relaxed and informal coffee area for individuals to enjoy. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to appreciate the diversity of plants and learn more about them.

Trend analysis

This chart illustrates the distribution trend of landscape plants in this area. As the growth environment of plants is influenced by factors such as sunlight, soil conditions, and the presence of other plants, several experiments were conducted to determine the most suitable plant distribution. The aim was to achieve a plant arrangement that is both harmonious and aesthetically pleasing.

Relaxed and Harmonious

This is an outdoor function arrangement with a green staircase layout. The purpose is to assess the suitability of this idea for this scheme. Based on this figure, what kind of facilities are appropriate for each age group? It is important to consider the specific needs and preferences of different age groups when determining the appropriate facilities to include.

Relaxed and Harmonious

To create a relaxed and smooth pattern, draw a simple plant distribution and conduct experiments. The main goal is to plant a diverse range of plant varieties on the existing resources. This will help create an urban green space that contributes to the local park economy. Start by focusing on plants and parks. Explore different permutations and combinations to achieve the desired outcome.

Design Narrative

The meaning of this design is a gift as light as a feather. It uses very soft fabric material items with almost no value, which are cut and spread at the bottom of the box. A few pieces are also pasted on the four walls to enhance the simple atmosphere. Then, a heavy glass is placed inside to create a contrast in volume and weight. Cups are chosen as gifts due to their many good blessing meanings. By combining these two contrasting elements, the design aims to convey that in future life, people will not only pursue the value of gifts but also value the meaning and sentiment behind the gift giver. It represents a gift that reflects the spirit of the times. The tightly wrapped tape symbolizes the preciousness of the gift, and being careful not to break the glass signifies auspice and peace. The colour scheme of this design includes a light pink packaging box, white fabric paper, and white tape. The design aims to create a pure and flawless atmosphere that is delicate and soft. It intends to convey blessings and good wishes from the gift giver. The simplicity of white enhances its beauty and represents purity and angelic qualities. In future life, people aspire to pursue a perfect life, simple happiness, and pure love. They pay more attention to the deeper meaning rather than being overly focused on ostentatious decorations. The design also emphasizes green environmental awareness and aims to discourage extravagance and waste.

Honours Project - Site Research and Representation

Part I: Research and Analysis

The site is located in Beijing's Chaoyang district. The surrounding transportation is convenient, and the economy develops rapidly with more residential areas. It is situated in the densely populated urban center area, which has great potential for development and future prospects. Economic development drives industrial innovation and people's ideological awakening. After satisfying material needs, people will pay attention to the development of cultural life. The cultural field has become an indispensable part of urban modernization development at the present stage, which is deeply concerned by people and society. Land resource development is also a way to implement and follow national policy.

Theoretical Underpinning

Part I: Generation Z and Self Identification

'One of which is to really focus on what they need. The second is the attitude they hold in the face of difficulties in the general environment.'

Generational thinking and feeling

The first part of the presentation focuses on what young people in the Z era are really thinking about. One of which is to really focus on what they need. The second is the attitude they hold in the face of difficulties in the general environment. Unlike people in the past, they are not willing to settle for less. They are more concerned about their own state and clearly perceive their own needs. People of this era have more independent thinking. This part of the collage focuses more on the inner thoughts, and boldly and truly feel what the world conveys to oneself. Then through their own cognition and consciousness change to express the attitude of the people of this era to this era in writing

Part II:  Pre-generation Z and Self Identification

'People of this age are not traditional in their consumption habits. Overspending is a way of motivating them, and the novelty of spending makes them more active and purposeful in earning money.'

Generation X stability

The main point of this generation is that they have a strong ability to plan their spending and, unlike other generations, they are wealthy. Their consumption is no longer limited to needs, but rather focuses on improving their quality of life, and they have a clear plan for their spending. For example, they have a serious financial investment plan. In their view, moderate overspending is conducive to a better quality of life and relieves stress. People of this age are not traditional in their consumption habits. Overspending is a way of motivating them, and the novelty of spending makes them more active and purposeful in earning money. Compared with the z era, the central attitude of the second era is more forward-looking and planned to enrich and perfect the resources in their hands. Let everything trace, with good quality of life new life new hope is a positive era

Part III: Generations and Community

'As young people, their hearts are full of emotions and opinions, so they put their emotions out in clothes and wear them. They care more about themselves.'

The identification of subcultures

As for the real use and understanding of subcultures, breaking formats and traditional concepts, new things in this era have many cultural audiences. Meet the aesthetic concept of The Times, meet the consumer psychology of the trend of The Times. As young people, their hearts are full of emotions and opinions, so they put their emotions out in clothes and wear them. They care more about themselves. They tend to be unconventional and self-publicizing, and can even challenge mainstream and orthodox cultural norms and forms. As young people, the catharsis in clothing is a good way for them to vent and express. At the same time, subculture tolerance is still very high.
